For Voodoo Village, ARF&YES collaborated with IT’S YES to develop a custom light installation for the Aqua stage, translating the festival’s “four elements of nature” theme into a physical and sensory experience.
Instead of using digital visuals, the installation used real water as the core medium. A circular plexi basin filled with a thin layer of water was suspended above the dancefloor. Light projected through the surface, while subtle vibrations, generated by integrated speakers, created ripples that shaped the visual effect in real time.
The result is a living light system where movement, sound and reflection are fully connected. As the water reacts to vibration, the projected light patterns shift continuously, creating an organic, fluid atmosphere that evolves with the music. Reflections on suspended white surfaces on the ceiling extend the effect throughout the entire space.
The installation was fully DMX-controlled and integrated into the FOH setup, allowing precise synchronization with the show. Built and installed by IT’S YES, the project combines minimal design with high technical precision, using real materials to create an immersive visual experience that feels both simple and unexpected.
